Not even an historic act of God can keep a great party city like New Orleans
down. Fat Tuesday rages on, and this notoriously raunchy and wild celebration
has been a siren song for the gay community since the 1950s, when the Krewe
of Yuga (or KY, naturally) formed to both satirize the straight Krewe that shut
them out and open the city up to legions of gay visitors, and the city hasn't been
the same since. The impulse of the Circuit community to give back to charitable
organizations is even more important for this event, as your tourist dollars help
the city itself regain its former glory.
