Tour, attendees receive giveaways
such as AC underwear and jewelry
from go-go boys clad in Christian’s
colorful swimsuits. Another giveaway
branded with the Andrew

Volume One CD, which is given to
the first 100 people who come to
each of the tour dates.
The promotional CD mixed by
Kimberly S. contains nine tracks featuring
Billie Myers, Debby Holiday,
and Niki Haris, along with other
Tango Blues artists. The result is a
driving, beat-infused disc that delivers
from beginning to end.
“You can only get it by going to see
Kimberly and listening to her spin
at one of the Music to Wear dates,”
explains Briskin. “We stream the
CD online on the website for musictoweartour.com,
but it's not downloadable
and it's not on iTunes. It's
only available free at the events.”
Kimberly S. kicks ass
A DJ for the past 21 years, Kimberly
S. first made a name for herself
headlining at Girlbar in Los Angeles.
Legendary Circuit promoter Jeffrey
Sanker heard her and hired her to
spin in the Ultra Suede room for
Factory Saturdays in L.A., where she
began to build her fan base.
Her first major Circuit event was
Sanker’s White Party Palm Springs.
Her success continued with gigs
at Fireball in Chicago, One Mighty
Party in Orlando, Circuit Asia in
the Philippines, and Blue Ball in
Philadelphia, where the Music to
Wear 2008 Tour kicked off this past
May. She just recently returned from
Fire Island where she spun at an
Ascension Weekend pool party to
rave reviews.
“Kimberly has this great sound with
her music that really crosses over,”
notes Briskin. “It's not just Circuit;
she mixes in a lot of Top 40 and a
lot of vocal house that draws in a
broader crowd than just the Circuit community.”
In addition to being a DJ, Kimberly owns
the martial arts school, Kick! Martial Arts
in Los Angeles, which she just purchased
from her master last October. A seconddegree
black belt, Kimberly has been
training for 16 years.
“The moment I stepped in that school, it
changed my life,” she recalls. “It taught
me discipline and how to set goals. It
made me a better DJ. I completely give
credit to my martial arts training for my
DJ career and how successful I've been
able to become and what I've been able
to achieve.”
In addition to her two careers, Kimberly
also makes time for her partner, Tanya,
and their family of eight, which consists
of three dogs, two cats, a macaw, and
two parrots. “Yeah, I’m pretty busy!” she
laughs. “I get tired, but I still love what I
do. I get to do two things I'm passionate
about. Who could ask for more?”
Although the 2008 tour is still going
strong, she and Briskin are already planning
Music to Wear 2009. “We've got
venues from this year already asking
for the tour next year,” says Briskin.
Kimberly is planning to release a double-CD
and has already started working
