What hurts The Most
Absolutely the gooiest guilty
pleasure since the Macarena,
Cascadas's Euro NRG cover of
country superstar Rascal Flatts'
beautifully written epiphany of
misunderstood love has had me
blaring it in the car with the windows
rolled up tight for weeks. On
paper, country music and Cascada
should cohabitate about as well as
Margaret Cho and the Republican
Party, but somehow they form this
hideously delicious monstrosity that
has me hitting “Repeat 1” while
furiously scrubbing the shame off
the finger that just did it.
Danielle Bollinger
Surrender Me
One of the many original anthems
created for Tony Moran's The Event
compilation that have slowly been
trickling out as individual releases
since last summer, "Surrender Me"
is the best thing Danielle's done
since her initial single "When The
Broken Hearted Love Again." Her
granite voice aptly fires commanding
lines like "Give back the world
I gave to you... I'll be the one to
surrender me," and when mixed
Moran & Riggs' trademark showstopping
production, the result
delivers multiple waves of goosebumps.

Billie Ray Martin
undisco Me
Billie's been a milestone and innovator
in the world of dance music for nearly
20 years now and remains one of the
few artists who can take a multi-year
hiatus from its relentlessly paced, fickle
consciousness and pull off a return that
challenges the genres current royalty.
"Undisco Me" is a clever cry for help
concerning the stagnation in electronic
music and proclamation of the Messiah
that took her up and undisco’ed her.
The original mix sounds like early Pet
Shop Boys meets Giorgio Moroder, and
is accompanied by multiple mixes from
a pack of underground disciples.
Alucard & Solarstone
Late Summer Fields
“Late Summer Fields” begins with the
intoxicating line "Let's spend the day
in bed, encase me with your armor,"
words that instantly touch anyone who’s
been deep in love. Together Alucard &
Solarstone (who also did his own vocals
on this one) have created one of those
tracks that demonstrates just how beautiful
and emotion-soaked vocal trance
can be. Listening to this unrestrained
confession of the cataclysmic emotions
that flood in with love and lust, all you
can do is let your defenses and reservations
come crashing down. Anyone with
a big heart will eat this up.
